2008 Fire, Then Renewal

Today we left the Poppy Reserve early, a bit disappointed but hoping for better luck in a couple weeks. So we drove on and found ourselves at Placerita Canyon Park. Now this place burned in 2008 and the recovery is astounding. All the shots are of trees that showed fire damage from 2008. The whole place is very green and healthy. This state park was not closed for safety or for recovery, and people have been able to enjoy the parks regrowth all along the way, unlike much of the Station Fire area. 251 square miles of National Park area closed to picnicking, hiking and camping.
